President Crawford awarded hall of fame, lifetime achievement honors in April
Recognition comes from Junior Achievement of OKI Partners, Kent State

President Crawford awarded hall of fame, lifetime achievement honors in April

A pair of Ohio organizations recently honored Miami University President Gregory Crawford.
Crawford earned accolades from Junior Achievement of OKI Partners and his alma mater, Kent State University, both in April.
On April 4, President Crawford was one of four individuals inducted into the Greater Butler and Warren Counties Business Hall of Fame hosted by Junior Achievement of OKI Partners. Three weeks later, he received a Lifetime Achievement Award from Kent State University’s Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute.
“It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by both of these great institutions,” President Crawford said. “They were also special opportunities to highlight some of the wonderful things happening at Miami University.”
Since the start of the new year, the university has announced partnerships with Cleveland Clinic and the Cincinnati Bengals, as well as the first wave of initiatives stemming from MiamiTHRIVE, the university’s strategic plan.
“It is definitely an exciting time at Miami,” President Crawford said. “I am always eager to get the chance to shine the spotlight on our success stories.”
President Crawford graduated from Kent State with a bachelor’s degree in Physics in 1987 before going on to earn his master’s degree, also in Physics, and Ph.D. in Chemical Physics.
He met his wife, University Ambassador Dr. Renate Crawford, at Kent State while they were both pursuing their doctoral degrees.
Kent State University’s Advanced Materials and Liquid Crystal Institute (AMLCI) celebrated its 60th anniversary this year by presenting 15 awards to alumni and academics who either served or trained at the AMLCI.
“I am very appreciative to Kent State and to be in this exclusive company,” President Crawford said. “It was a great pleasure to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Liquid Crystal Institute this way.”

Established in 1809, Miami University is located in Oxford, Ohio, with regional campuses in Hamilton and Middletown, a learning center in West Chester, and a European study center in Luxembourg.
