Crime, Law, and Social Justice

(18 semester hours)

This minor offers a sociologically based foundation of knowledge and skills to examine the essential connections between social norms, their transgression, and efforts to maintain justice in the criminal justice and juridical spheres. Elective courses address a range of justice issues including those related to deviancy, social problems, crime, juvenile delinquency, family violence, and legal systems.

With the exception of the fieldwork, courses must be taken for a grade (not credit/no-credit). Students planning to take this minor should consult with the chief departmental adviser.
