Research opportunities

• Recognized by the National Science Foundation for establishing the Undergraduate Scholars Program, Miami is widely known for the quantity and quality of research opportunities for undergraduates.
• Miami University faculty and staff received $27.5 million in external grants, contracts, and technology transfer fees in 2007–2008—a 10 percent increase from last year and the fifth year in a row for a record level of external funding.
• Nationally recognized doctoral degree programs, some with postdoctoral scholar positions permanently funded by the university, emphasize the development of the graduate student as the complete teacher-scholar.

Oxford campus

• Miami's Oxford campus covers 2,400 acres and includes more than 200 buildings.
• Miami has completed a number of new facilities in recent years, including an engineering building and the Goggin Ice Center. A new business school facility, completed in 2009, is Miami's first LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certified building.
  
• Situated within commuting distance from Dayton and Cincinnati, Oxford is a welcoming blend of the community found in a small town and the vibrancy of life offered by a major university. Robert Frost once said Miami is the most beautiful college there is.

Regional campuses

Miami's Hamilton and Middletown campuses as well as the Voice of America Learning Center in West Chester, OH, provide the quality of a Miami University education with the convenience of a regional facility, offering associate's degree and selected bachelor's and master's degree programs.

Teaching abroad

The Dolibois European Center in Luxembourg is one of many opportunities for Miami students to study abroad, as well as an opportunity for Miami faculty to teach in Europe. In a 2008 Institute for International Education report on the number of students studying abroad, Miami remains among the top universities in the nation, ranking 26th among doctoral institutions. The latest figures show 37 percent of Miami students studying abroad before they graduate.

• In a new ranking for best undergraduate teaching, U.S.News & World Report lists Miami eighth among the nation's top universities in the 2010 edition of America's Best Colleges.
• Miami University is recognized as one of the nation's best undergraduate institutions for 2010, according to the Princeton Review's annual list. In surveys gathered from Miami students, our campus is identified as offering a "great college experience," with professors who are "extremely personable."
  
• Once again, Miami University has been identified as a best value for 2009 in Kiplinger's annual list of the "100 Best Values in Public Colleges." Miami has appeared as a top 100 value every year since the first list was published in 1998.
• According to The Center for College Affordability & Productivity (CCAP)/Forbes.com's first ranking of America's Best Colleges, Miami ranks as the top public university in Ohio for a quality education based on student satisfaction, affordability, and success. (2008)
• Because our academic reputation is a magnet for employers, Miami sponsors one of the largest collegiate career fairs in the country. Compared with on-campus recruitment programs at other universities our size, nearly twice as many employers recruit at Miami, and four times as many on-campus interviews are conducted. (2008)
• Thirty-nine percent of entering first-year students in the fall of 2009 ranked in the top 10 percent of their high school class.
