Band season highlight in concert Nov. 20 |

The Miami University Marching Band will perform highlights of the marching season in a concert at 4 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 20, in Millett Hall. David Shaffer is director of the band. “The music will be all of the music from this season's shows,” says Shaffer, including “Here's That Rainy Day,” “Caravan” and “La Fiesta.” The concert also will include a tribute to the memory of Michael Cifuentes. Cifuentes was a five-year band member, Miami alumnus and graduate student who lost his life on Aug. 3 while serving in Iraq with members of the Lima Company 3rd Battalion, 25th Marines. The band performed a pre-game tribute to Cifuentes at a Sept. 28 football game. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information, call 9-4514. |
