Senate resolution opposes domain address change

University Senate Nov. 7 approved SR 06-09.

The next meeting of University Senate will be 3:05 p.m. Nov. 21 in 111 Harrison Hall.

SR 06-09

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that it is the “sense of University Senate” that the proposed change to the University domain address is ill advised because the costs of the proposed change are unknown and the proposed change:

was developed without sufficient input from faculty, staff, and students who could be adversely affected by the proposed change;
could potentially damage scholarly and creative efforts;

may not achieve the intended goal; i.e., to clarify the University's unique identity.
