Senate meets in Hamilton, approves three resolutions |

University Senate met on the Hamilton campus Oct. 17, the first meeting of University Senate held on a regional campus. Senate approved the Sept. 12 minutes and resolutions SR 06-03, SR 06-04, and SR 06-05. The next meeting will be Nov. 7, 111 Harrison Hall. SR 06-03 BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate adopt the request by the School of Engineering and Applied Science to change the degree titles for baccalaureate engineering and computing degree programs currently offered by Miami University as set forth below (Please see the chart above): SR 06-04 BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate recommend the approval of a new graduate degree program, Instructional Design and Technology, within Educational Psychology's Existing Master of Arts and Master of Education Programs. SR 06-05 BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED that University Senate recommend that the composition of the Ad Hoc Committee on the Honor Code, created by University Senate, April 18, 2005, SR 05-16, be revised as set forth below: The Ad Hoc Committee on Honor Code shall be composed of seven (7) members, four (4) of whom shall be chosen from Student Senate, and three (3) of whom shall be chosen from University Senate. Twenty-five members of Faculty Assembly can challenge the resolutions by filing a petition with the secretary of the university within 10 class days after their publication in this issue of The Miami Report. Absent a challenge by Faculty Assembly, these policies will be forwarded to the president and the Board of Trustees for consideration. |
