The touring Mosaic Youth Theatre of Detroit and Mosaic Youth Singers will perform at Miami this weekend. The Youth Theatre will present “Now That I Can Dance-Motown 1962” at 7 p.m. Saturday in Hall Auditorium. The play tells the story of the Marvelettes, a group from a small town on the outskirts of Detroit who recorded Motown's first number one pop song, “Please, Mr. Postman.” The Mosaic Singers will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday in Hall Auditorium. Mosaic's appearance is sponsored by the Center for American and World Cultures and co-sponsored by the College of Arts and Science, School of Fine Arts, parents fund, office of admission and office of residence life and housing. The concerts are free but tickets are required as seating is limited. For tickets, call 9-3200. |
