New director of admission named

Laurie Koehler, senior associate director for recruitment in the undergraduate admissions office at Cornell University, will begin as Miami's director of admission March 19.

Koehler was one of two candidates interviewed by groups on campus in the fall.

At Cornell, she helped refine recruitment strategies for first-year, transfer, international and multicultural students. She previously was assistant dean for undergraduate admission at the University of Virginia.

Koehler has a master's in education and a bachelor's degree from University of Virginia.
