Accreditation reviewers to hold open meetings with faculty, staff and students

Faculty, staff and students can share their insights and views of Miami at open meetings to be held by the North Central Association's Higher Learning Commission.
A team of consultant-evaluators will conduct the meetings as part of the commission's accreditation review. University-wide accreditation is necessary for students to obtain federal financial aid and for their degrees to be honored by employers, graduate schools and professional organizations.

In addition to recommending whether Miami should be reaccredited, the consultant-evaluators will suggest ways the university can become an even stronger institution.

“This is a rare opportunity to obtain advice founded on a comprehensive and detailed examination of the university by higher education leaders,” said John Skillings, interim provost. “I encourage all faculty, staff and students to contribute to Miami's future by attending one of the open meetings.”
