The disability forum Oct. 21

The Disability Forum: Beginning a Local Conversation About Disability will be held at 4:30 p.m. today in the Great Room, MacMillan Hall.

Miami community members will discuss issues including disability law, what it is like to be considered “disabled” and what Miami is doing to improve the intellectual, physical and cultural climate for the disabled on campus.

Presenters include: Jim Cherney (communication); Kathy Hulgin (educational psychology); Kathleen Hutchinson (speech pathology); Cindy Lewiecki-Wilson (English); Kathy McMahon-Klosterman (educational psychology); Andrew Zeisler (office of disability resources); Jay Dolmage, (graduate student, English) and Linsey Milillo (graduate student, English).

A position paper on the forum can be downloaded from the Center for American and World Cultures Web site at http://www.cas.muohio.edu/cawc/Events.html#october. A printed version was included in the Oct. 14 issue of The Miami Report and also is available in locations around campus.
