'Empty Bowls' helps feed hungry

Ceramics students working with Dennis Tobin (art) are again participating in “Empty Bowls,” 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at the Oxford United Methodist Church.

At the luncheon, guests choose a handmade bowl and enjoy soup made by local cooks, along with bread and beverages donated by local businesses.

Cost is $10; children under 12 free. “Empty Bowls,” part of an international movement to combat hunger, is sponsored by local churches, Miami ceramics students, Alpha Xi Delta Sorority and the McGuffey Foundation School.
