Hiestand Galleries, School of Fine Arts, will have exhibitions of works by Scott Anderson, as well as finalists in the fifth annual Young Painters Competition for the William and Dorothy Yeck Award, in December. Anderson was the 2003 winner of the $10,000 Yeck award. The exhibition opens Dec. 5 and continues through Jan. 30. Works by finalists in this year’s competition will be exhibited Dec. 10 through Feb. 9. A celebration of the exhibit is planned 4-5:30 p.m. Jan. 23 with the award ceremony at 4:45 p.m. The juror this year is Franklin "Buzz" Spector, chair of the department of art at Cornell University.
