A total of $32,820 has been awarded to faculty from the Philip and Elaina Hampton Fund for Faculty International Initiatives. Competition awardees, their projects and the amount of their awards follow: Ricardo Averbach (music), "W. Burle Marx: Symphonic Music (Bulgaria)," $4,500; John M. Cinnamon (anthropology), "Religion, Culture and Oral Tradition in West and Central Africa," $6,200; Susan Ewing (art), "Research and Lecturing Travel to Seoul, Republic of Korea," $3,000; Thomas Klak (geography), "Is Jamaica Pursuing Post Colonial Development Policies?," $2,600; Lisa M. McLaughlin (communication and women’s studies), "Feminist Nongovernmental Organization Advocacy in Preparation for the World Summit on the Information Society: The Case of Isis International-Manila," $5,000; Martin D. Sikora (paper science and engineering), "Helsinki Initiative for Paper Science and Engineering: Planting Seeds for Tomorrow (Finland)," $4,000; Steven L. Tuck (classics), "Greeks, Romans and Etruscans in Italy," $2,200; Allan M. Winkler (history) and Richard D. Erlich (English), "Vietnam: War and Society," $5,320.
