Miami grad/ producer of ‘Not in Our Town’ to visit today

Rhian Miller (Miami ’78), producer of the PBS documentary "Not in Our Town," will host a viewing of the award-winning film and give a short presentation at 7 p.m. today in 128 Pearson Hall.

Her appearance, sponsored by the university honors program and student affairs, is in response to a recent hate mail sent to 12 member of the campus community after their names were listed in a National Coming Out Day article and to a cross-burning at a residence in Oxford Township.

The documentary narrates one community’s successful response to acts of hatred and bigotry. Miller is a member of The Working Group, a media production company in Oakland, Calif.

Following the presentation, Steve DeLue (political science) will lead a public discussion.
