Buerk to receive Bishop Medal |

Ellen Plummer Buerk M.D. ’64 has been selected as this year’s recipient of the Bishop Medal, presented to alumni who have demonstrated a lifetime of service to others. Buerk has been widely recognized within her profession as an outstanding physician, one who has excelled in her efforts to support children in Oxford and throughout the state of Ohio. In addition to her work as a pediatrician, Ellen has served as a volunteer faculty member at Children’s Medical Center in Cincinnati, team physician to Miami’s hockey program, adviser to Pi Beta Phi sorority and an advocate for the Reach Out and Read program. She also has assisted in the creation of a dental clinic for indigent children. |
