Research in Tibet topic of Limper Geology Museum Lecture
Brian Currie (geology) will present "Seven Weeks in Tibet: The Highs (and Lows) of Doing Research on the Roof of the World" at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, in 115 Shideler Hall.
Currie, who traveled to Tibet last October to study the climatic and tectonic history of the country’s sediments, will discuss the difficulty of working in a primitive country where the lowest valleys are about the same elevation as the highest peaks in the American Rockies.
Limper Geology Museum lectures are designed to introduce the community to Miami faculty and the research done by geologists.
Refreshments will be provided and the museum will be open from 9-11:30 a.m.
