Rakovan to discuss Antarctic research

Miami’s Limper Geology Museum presents "A Research Trip to Antarctica: Mineral-Microbe Interactions in the Dry Valleys" at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in 115 Shideler Hall.

The "pictorial field trip" of scientific research in one of the most remote places on earth will be presented by John Rakovan (geology), who traveled to Antarctica last winter with a team of researchers.

The lecture is free and open to the public; the Limper Geology Museum will be open Saturday from 9-11:30 a.m.
