Two Miami students have received scholarships from the Ohio Academy of Science in the amount of $2,500 for the 2006-07 school year.
Timothy Bankroff, a senior zoology major from Oxford, and Sarah Owens, a senior botany and environmental science major from Vandalia, received the scholarships that are designed to enhance the employability of students and motivate them to enter environmental science and engineering fields.
The awards are given to 15 outstanding undergraduate students in Ohio colleges and universities. They are based on several criteria including original research or other contributions to environmental science/engineering, academic merit and participation in extra-curricular university activities.
