University Senate Sept. 25 heard a summary of the Report on Student Assessment and Expectations by Marcia Baxter-Magolda; questions and comments followed. In other business, Senate ratified appointments to three ad hoc committees of University Senate: ombuds committee, parking committee and class scheduling and availability committee. University Senate Monday heard a report by William E. Even, chair of the fiscal priorities committee, on topics under consideration by the committee for 2000-2001; questions and comments followed. In other business, Senate approved an amendment to MUPIM Section 3.15; the text follows below. Twenty-five members of Faculty Assembly can challenge the resolutions by filing a petition with the Secretary of the University within ten class days after their publication in this issue of The Miami Report. Absent a challenge by Faculty Assembly, these policies will be forwarded to the president and the board of trustees for consideration. SR 01-02 BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED THAT section 3.15 of the Miami University Policy and Information Manual be amended as follows: 3.15 Romantic and Sexual Relationships in the Instructional and Supervisory Setting Failure to report the relationship, cooperate in the transfer of supervisory responsibility, and resolve all conflicts of interest are grounds for discipline, up to and including termination under appropriate University policies.
