Tracing evolution locally is topic of Limper Lecture

Andrew Webber (geology) will speak on "Tracing Evolution in the Fossil Record of Southwestern Ohio" at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, in 10 Shideler Hall.

Webber specializes in the study of invertebrate paleontology. During his presentation, he will describe the ancient environment of southwestern Ohio and discuss what can be learned about patterns of evolution by studying trilobite fossils from the local bedrock, which is the world's most important record of life on Earth about 450,000,000 years ago.

Intended for a general audience, the talk will last 45 minutes and will be followed by a question and answer period. Refreshments will be provided and the Limper Geology Museum, also located in Shideler Hall, will be open 9-11:30 a.m.

This is the final lecture in the 2006 Limper Geology Museum Lecture Series.

The talk is free and open to the public.
