Friedland to present Whelpton Lecture

Robert Friedland, founding director of the National Academy on an Aging Society, Washington, D.C., will present the Whelpton Lecture, "Demography is not Destiny," at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the Miami University Art Museum auditorium.

The academy is a non-partisan public policy institute that examines the issues that affect families, in particular, the impact of changing demographics on employment, income and health.

Friedland has written on issues pertaining to the financing and delivery of health care and long-term care and retirement income security.
