Bailer to present Sigma Xi Lecture |

A. John Bailer, named Researcher of the Year by Sigma Xi, the scientific honor society, will lecture on "How Much is Too Much" at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, in 40 Irvin Hall. Bailer (mathematics and statistics) is a biostatistician specializing in toxicology. He will discuss how experimental and observational studies are used to assess the risk of occupational and environmental hazards. His talk will address questions such as: • What do we mean by risk? • How can different regulatory agencies obtain different risk estimates based upon the same data? A reception will begin at 3:30 p.m. before the lecture. |
