Dilek to present Limper Lecture

Yildirim Dilek (geology) will speak on "From Ocean Floor to the Mountains: On the Trail of ‘Snake Rocks’" at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, in 115 Shideler Hall.

Dilek, who was a participant in Joint Oceanographic Institutions for Deep Earth Sampling (JOIDES) projects, will discuss how oceans form and how the rocks making up the ocean floor get incorporated into the continents during formation of mountains.
