Miami creative writing faculty will take part in the 9th annual Writers Harvest at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, in 101 Bachelor Hall. Organized by Share Our Strength, an anti-hunger and anti-poverty organization that has distributed more than $45 million in grants worldwide, the Writers Harvest brings together more than 2,000 writers to fight hunger and poverty by reading from their works in more than 600 locations across the country. One hundred percent of all money raised at Miami will go to statewide anti-hunger organizations in Ohio. Faculty, including Steven Bauer, Eric Goodman, Tim Melley, Constance Pierce, James Reiss, Kay Sloan, David Schloss and Keith Tuma, will read from their own fiction and poetry. Suggested donations are $5 for students, $10 for faculty and staff. |
