University community invited to ‘MORE’ open house

Members of the Miami community are invited to an open house, 4-6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 11, in the Campus Avenue Building auditorium (at the south end of the building), for the launch of a new multicultural student recruitment campaign.

MORE (Multicultural Opportunities for Reaching Excellence) is a multimedia campaign that includes a video with interviews of many current students of color at Miami. The campaign is part of an effort to broaden the diversity of Miami’s student population.

Radio/television spots and billboards debut this month in Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Cleveland and Indianapolis, and run through December.

MYCOM Advertising in Cincinnati conducted research before developing and producing the program. They worked with staff in student affairs and university communications and consulted with current students in all stages of development. Many students volunteered to appear in the new materials.

Miami’s Student Ambassadors (students who help recruit minority students) are hosting the open house.
