Health insurance options offered

Miami again is offering two choices to employees for health care coverage. Both plans are through Anthem Blue Cross & Blue Shield and will take effect Jan. 1.

Faculty and staff have received packets explaining the older plan, Community Preferred Health Plan, and the newer plan, Community Choice Point of Service Plan, and the differences between them, as well as instructions for enrolling.

"If you want your coverage to stay the same, then you don’t need to do anything," said Dennis Deahl, senior director of personnel and benefit services.

Representatives from Anthem have been on Miami’s campuses to answer questions. Additional informational meetings will be held:

• In Middletown, 2-4 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 12, in 107 Johnston Hall.

• In Oxford, 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 14, in 241 Shriver Center; and 2-4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, in Shriver Center’s Benjamin Harrison Room.
