C. Michael Armstrong, chairman and CEO of AT&T, announced a personal endowment of $1 million to the Richard T. Farmer School of Business during a visit to Miami last week. "This endowment will create a chair at Miami to launch a new curriculum combining the business and technical skills the communications revolution demands," said Armstrong, a 1961 Miami alumnus. Donald Dawley (decision sciences and management information systems) will head the national search committee. An appointment is expected by summer 2000. "Armstrong is leading a technology revolution that will affect our lives significantly. His gift will firmly establish Miami University at the cutting edge of this revolution," said Dan Short (dean, school of business). |
