First-year student Jennifer Hensel, of Strasburg, was released from Miami Valley Hospital Monday after being treated for injuries sustained in an accident on campus Sept. 24. According to Oxford police, Hensel was crossing Oak Street at Spring at about 3:45 p.m. when a Metro bus turning from Spring onto Oak struck her. She was thrown about 14 feet. Miami police assisted Oxford rescue personnel in stabilizing Hensel, who was transported to McCullough Hyde Memorial Hospital and later to Miami Valley Hospital. Hamilton School Bus Service has followed its normal procedure and removed the driver from his duties pending an investigation. The driver, Charles Toth, has been cited with reckless operation and a right of way violation. |
