Bluestones at Miami for residency, performance Nov. 17

Robert Bluestone, guitar, and Rebecca Bluestone, fiber artist, will be in residence at Miami the week of Nov. 13. Their visit will culminate in a performance titled "Woven Harmony" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 17, in Hall Auditorium.

"Woven Harmony" is a multimedia concert featuring an installation of Rebecca's tapestries onstage, Robert's interpretations of classical music and projected visual images of their home, studio, process and the landscapes from which they have drawn inspiration.

The performance will include a major new work for guitar inspired by their lives, art and aesthetic, composed by Andrew York of the Los Angeles Guitar Quartet.

The residency includes a series of workshops and discussions conducted on Miami's campuses, in the Oxford community and Cincinnati's Over-the-Rhine where the Bluestones will give their "State of Grace" presentation.

A selection of Rebecca's tapestries also will be on exhibit at King Library through Nov. 30.

"Woven Harmony" is presented by the Miami University Performing Arts Series and sponsored by the White Garden Inn. Funding is provided, in part, by the Ohio Arts Council.
