Information bulletin: Off-campus attempted burglary and burglary

Oxford police report an attempted burglary and burglary at student homes this weekend.

A student in the 500 block of S. Main St. called police at about 3:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8, to report noises and male voices near a living room window. Police responded and found two window screens removed, but windows unopened. Suspects were not in the area.

Oxford police also received a report of a large mirror stolen in the early morning hours Sunday, Nov. 9, from a student residence in the 100 block of E. Central Ave.

No injuries were reported in either case.

Police remind everyone to make sure doors and first-floor windows are locked while they are sleeping or away.
