Wicks' discusses Indian Peace medals

Robert Wicks, museum director, will discuss "Indian Peace Medals of 1795 and the Treaty of Greeneville" at noon Tuesday, Nov. 11, at the Miami University Art Museum. Wicks' talk will focus on the George Washington Indian Peace medals distributed to native chiefs at the 1795 Treaty of Greeneville.

Examples are in the museum exhibition "myaamiaki iisi meehtohseeniwiciki/How the Miami People Live" through Dec. 13.

Wicks also will analyze later medals associated with the centennial commemoration of the treaty in 1895. The talk is free and open to the public. For more information, call 529-2232.
