Learn ways to prevent electronic identity theft

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month and Miami's information security office is celebrating in Oxford, Hamilton and in Middletown with a variety of events designed to highlight the importance of keeping your personal information, as well as Miami's, safe and secure.

"Computer Break-ins: From Beginning to Prosecution"

This session meets the annual PCI training requirement for anyone who handles Payment Card (credit card) Information. Follow-up resources will be provided.

"Music and Video Downloads: Avoiding Legal Trouble"
3 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Shriver Center Multi-purpose Room C
Using programs like Kazaa or Limewire to download music or video may be a violation of copyright law and could land you in serious legal trouble. The RIAA and the MPAA actively monitor the Internet and thousands of students are caught each year. Get some insight and advice to keep you legal and safe.
