Miami riders compete in national championship

Miami student Katie Kurtz.
Diane Silcox and Katie Kurtz, both seniors, rode in the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) championship May 8-11 at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center.

Silcox took fifth place in the intermediate equitation over fences class and Kurtz was named champion in the intermediate equitation on the flat class. The students were members of Miami's team for all four years of their collegiate careers.

Kurtz, from St. Charles, Ill., is a marketing major with a minor in entrepreneurship. Silcox is a zoology major from University, Pa.
