Fitness classes sponsored by employee health and well-being begin Jan. 7 and are free for all employees.
Group fitness classes in aerobics, toning will be held from 12:10-12:40 p.m. throughout the semester in 44 Withrow Hall.
Monday sessions will focus on toning. The 30-minute non-aerobic strength session will use a variety of methods to train the entire body.
Tuesday sessions are an introduction to aerobics and toning for the beginner.
Wednesday sessions include low-impact aerobics, taught in a continuous rhythmic activity using movements involving large muscle groups.
On Thursday, Tai Chi classes will be offered at the Art Museum. Tai Chi is an exercise of the body, mind and spirit.
Friday sessions focus on core-based toning to increase strength using a number of new training techniques for the abdominal and lower back muscles.
In addition, yoga classes will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays in 332 McGuffey Hall beginning Jan. 8 and in 109 Harrison Jan. 10, 22 29 and March 11.
