Miami students part of Cincinnati choir victory on NBC

Three Miami students and three alums are part of the Cincinnati choir that won NBC's "Clash of the Choirs" competition Dec. 20.

Students are
Lisa Baldwin, senior in vocal performance and journalism
Christy Ledden, senior in music education
Jordan Thompson, junior zoology major

Alumni singers are
Chuck Merk, 1995 graduate in education
Scott Metcalf, 2004 graduate in finance

They sang on live TV for four consecutive evenings as five choirs from throughout the country competed for viewer votes.

The Cincinnati choir was guest conducted by Nick Lachey, who attended Miami, and was formally directed by Stephen Zegree, a 1975 alumnus and the Bobby McFerrin Professor of Jazz at Western Michigan University.
