University Senate Dec. 3 heard the following reports: Miami University's Crisis Intervention Response Report by John McCandless, university chief of police and Susan Mosely-Howard, associate vice president and dean of students; Miami University Diversity Update by Sally Lloyd, interim associate vice president for institutional diversity; Ad Hoc Committee on Academic Program Review Report by Theodore Wagenaar (sociology and gerontology), committee chair; and University Senate Executive Committee Report by William McKenna (philosophy), committee chair.

Senate approved the November 19, 2007, minutes and the December 3, 2007, abbreviated minutes; received the consent calendar; and endorsed revisions to the criteria for the Benjamin Harrison Award.

The next meeting of Senate will be held at 3:05 p.m. January 28, 2008, in Room 111, Harrison Hall, Oxford campus.

Twenty-five members of Faculty Assembly can challenge the resolutions by filing a petition with the secretary of the university during the 10 class days after publication in the e-Report. Absent a challenge by Faculty Assembly, these policies will be forwarded to the president and the board of trustees for consideration.
