This week, with the opening of the men's basketball season, a televised football game and a competition with a Big Ten rival in swimming/diving, Miami's RedHawks encourage faculty, staff and students to attend the events and wear white to support the teams.
Today, Nov. 13, Xavier University opens Miami's men's basketball schedule with a game at Millett Hall. Coach Charlie Coles' RedHawks, the defending Mid-American Conference Tournament champs, are picked by the experts to challenge for the MAC title in 2007-08. Tip-off is at 8 p.m.
On Wednesday, ESPN2's TV cameras come to Yager Stadium to watch Coach Shane Montgomery's football squad continue their quest for a MAC championship. A victory over Akron, in the game that will kick-off at 7:30 p.m., will bring the RedHawks within one game of playing for the conference championship.
Finally, on Friday, Ohio State comes to Oxford to take on Coach Pete Lindsay's men's swimming and diving squad. The first event begins at 6 p.m. at the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center. There is no admission charge for this event.
Call 529-HAWK (529-4295) for football and basketball ticket information. Miami's students gain free admission to all RedHawk athletic events by showing their MU ID card.
