Miami's yearbook takes national award

Recensio, the Miami University yearbook, has been recognized nationally by the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP) for its design.

Seniors Rachel Stanley and Christopher Burton accepted the third place award in the yearbook/magazine design of the year category at the ACP convention Oct. 30 in Kansas City.

Stanley, a business economics major, is editor-in-chief of Recensio. Burton, a marketing major, is business director.

The award recognizes “Banded and Bonded,” a feature focusing on women’s soccer at Miami. The design will be published in the 2005 Recensio, scheduled for delivery this month. Breaking the traditional mold of the college yearbook, the 2005 Recensio displays a magazine-style layout organized by season rather than by conventional sections.

ACP is a division of the National Scholarship Press Association, a nonprofit educational membership association. The award competition was co-sponsored by Adobe Systems.
