Phillip Shriver to receive Statesman Award

Phillip R. Shriver, president emeritus of Miami University, has been chosen as this year's recipient of the Cincinnati Society of Association Executives (CSAE) Statesman Award.

Shriver served as Miami’s president from 1965 to 1981. While president, he continued to teach history courses. During his presidency, enrollment at Miami’s Oxford campus grew from about 9,000 to nearly 15,000 students and the university’s regional campuses were opened.

Shriver lives in Oxford with his wife, Martha.

The award will be presented at a luncheon in Milford Thursday, Oct. 26.

Previous winners include Johnny Bench, Stanley Aronoff, Laura Pulfer and Carmen DeLeone.

CSAE is a professional association of individuals who are engaged in the management of not-for-profit associations.
