Update: All tickets to this lecture have been claimed. Gloria Steinem will present "Feminism 101" at 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 17, at Miami University's Hall Auditorium. Her talk is part of the Miami University Lecture Series. A leader in the womens rights movement, she helped found Ms. magazine, the National Womens Political Caucus and the Womens Action Alliance. Steinem became contributing editor of New York magazine in 1968, the same year she became active in the womens movement. Steinem has for written for magazines including Glamour, McCalls, Life and Cosmopolitan. One of her best-known assignments, for Show Magazine, was an undercover stint as a Playboy bunny in the New York Playboy Club. Her best-selling books include Outrageous Acts and Everyday Rebellions and Moving Beyond Words. She is currently president of Voters for Choice, a non-partisan political action committee that supports pro-choice candidates, and is one of 10 International Working Group members of Beyond Racism, an initiative of the Southern Education Foundation. Steinem, a Toledo native, was inducted into the Womens Hall of Fame in 1993. Free tickets will be available to the Miami community starting Nov. 12 at the box office in the Shriver Center.
