Sophomore wins Press Club scholarship02/28/2003 |

Adrienne L. Ziegler, a sophomore journalism and international studies major at Miami, has won an Overseas Press Club Foundation scholarship for 2003. Ziegler received the $2,000 Harper’s Magazine Scholarship in honor of I.F. Stone, a 20th century American investigative reporter and press critic. Two hundred applicants competed for 11 awards, presented in late January at a luncheon in New York City. CBS news anchor and managing editor Dan Rather was guest speaker. The Overseas Press Club Foundation> has a broad mandate to improve the media’s understanding of international issues and to raise the quality of news-gathering efforts in covering the world. |
