The National Ballet of China, the Moscow Philharmonic and the musical "Titanic" highlight the 2001-02 season of the Miami University Performing Arts Series. Millett Series concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Subscriptions are $38 for Miami students and youth, $72 for senior citizens and $80 for other adults. Performances include:

The Performing Arts Series also will sponsor two special events, "Celebrating Sor Juana: The Phoenix of Mexico" at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 23 in Hall Auditorium and Ulrich Schütte, bass-baritone, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10 in Souers Recital Hall, Center for Performing Arts. "Celebrating Sor Juana" features members of the San Antonio Vocal Arts Ensemble who will work with Miami faculty and students to weave dance, theatre and music into an homage to the life and work of Sor Juana, a 16th century Spanish nun. Tickets are $3 for Miami students and youth, $4 for senior citizens and $6 for other adults. Schütte, from the Cologne (Germany) College-Conservatory of Music, specializes in lieder. He will sing Franz Schuberts song cycle, "Die Winterreise" (The Winter Journey)[Click here for translation of the text.] The performance is part of the American Conference on Romanticism to be held at Miami.
