OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University received one of nine grants awarded by OhioLINK, the Ohio Library and Information Network, to create an instructional web site for educational psychology.
The grant totaled $4,914.
Aim of the OhioLINK grant program is to create discipline-based prototype web sites that collect syllabi, tutorials, assignments, examples incorporating OhioLINK and library resources into the curriculum, links to other Internet resources and other teaching tools.
The Miami site, a collaborative project involving library staff and Brenda A. Stevens, assistant professor of educational psychology, is designed to be an online instructional resource for students and faculty in educational and school psychology courses.
The site will provide a forum for educational psychology faculty across the state to share teaching tools and curriculum ideas, said library officials.
Among the project's goals:
Principal web site creators were Stevens and John Millard and Lisa Santucci, both electronic information services and instruction librarians at King Library.
Other team members included Stan Brown, library systems officer; Gayle Ball, special collections librarian; Joanne Goode, science librarian; Deborah Harrington, business librarian; Brian Joyce, music library; Nonny Schlotzhauer, social sciences librarian.
The team will participate in the Midwestern Association of Teachers of Educational Psychology Conference to be held Nov. 14-15.
All nine OhioLINK instructional web sites are available at: http://www.ohiolink.edu/. Miami's educational psychology web site can be accessed at: http://www.lib.muohio.edu/edpsych.
