Miami again listed as Best Buy in Fiske Guide

OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University is again listed among the

nation's "Best Buys" in The Fiske Guide to Colleges for 1998.

Miami is the only Ohio university to be listed among the 21 public and 21

private colleges and universities in the "Best Buy" listing.

The Fiske Guide has offered information and essays on the "300 best and

most interesting institutions in the nation" since 1982.

The authors combined cost data with academic and other information to

derive the "Best Buys"--those that "offer remarkable educational opportunities

at a relatively modest cost."

The guide lists paper science and engineering, accountancy, business,

music, zoology and microbiology as among Miami's strongest programs.

Miami has been on Fiske's "Best Buy" list five of the six times the list

has been published.
