Paul Jackson named Miami's theatre chair 6/1/98

Dr. Paul Jackson, chair of the department of theatre and drama at Spelman College, has been appointed chair of Miami University’s department of theatre.

Jackson’s scholarship includes books, articles, papers, workshops and panels relating to race, class and gender, linking the performance and representation of popular culture in the African Diaspora, post-colonial theatre and African-American musical theatre. Grants supporting his work have come from the Ford Foundation, National Endowment for the Humanities, the MacArthur Foundation and others.

Jackson received a doctorate from the University of Wisconsin, a master’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and a bachelor’s from Dartmouth College, as well as a post-doctorate certificate in business administration from the Wharton School.
