Kunkel named director of Gerontology Center

OXFORD, Ohio -- Suzanne Kunkel, associate professor of sociology, gerontology and anthropology, is the new director of Miami's Scripps Gerontology Center. She succeeds Robert Atchley, who has retired from Miami.

Kunkel, who has taught at Miami since 1986, had served as associate director of Scripps. She is co-author of a new textbook, Aging: The Social Context.

Kunkel is also president-elect of the Association of Gerontology for Higher Education.
