OXFORD, Ohio -- Jarrod Creque, 20, a Miami University junior majoring in accounting, was killed in an automobile accident early Saturday (Sept. 5) when he lost control of the vehicle he was driving.
The accident occurred on I-75 near Williamsburg, Ky.
Two passengers, Kevin Felder and Adam Darrah, also Miami students, suffered minor injuries in the accident.
As administrative vice president of Evans Scholars, Creque had recently been involved in organizing many details of an extensive renovation of the chapter house at 219 E. Church St., according to Gil Siegel, chapter adviser, who said Creque had demonstrated leadership throughout the project.
The Toledo-area resident was a 1996 graduate of St. John's Jesuit High School.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Mercer; his father, Reid Creque; sister, Jennifer; brother, Derrik; and grandmother, Christina Fauble. Visitation will be from 4-9 p.m. today (Sept. 8) at the Reeb Funeral Home, Sylvania. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (Sept. 9) at the Immaculate Conception Church, Swanton.
The family suggests memorials be sent to the Oxford chapter of Evans Scholars. |
