OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University's undergraduate accounting program is seventh in the nation, according to a survey by the Public Accounting Report, an independent newsletter of the accounting profession. More than 150 accounting department chairs and professors from colleges and universities throughout the U.S. ranked undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs. "It's a major accomplishment to be in the top ten," said Daniel Short, dean of Miami's Richard T. Farmer School of Business Administration. John Cumming, chair of the accountancy department, said Miami is unique among other schools in the top ten. "This is quite a distinction for our program," he said. "We are committed to undergraduate education, yet we are ranked with the top research universities in the field." Traditionally, Miami has been a target school for corporations and the Big Six accounting firms, Cumming said. For additional information, contact David Thomas at 513-529-7592. |
