OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University alumni will celebrate Homecoming weekend Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10. Mary Ann Myers, the only female athlete in Miami's history to have her jersey retired, will be Grand Marshal for the Homecoming parade starting in the Millett Hall parking lot at 6 p.m. Friday. A pep rally and bonfire will be held at Cook Field. Miami plays Bowling Green at 2 p.m. in Yager Stadium. The Homecoming king and queen will be crowned at halftime and Richard L. Nault, dean of students and vice president for student affairs, will be recognized as the 1998 Effective Educator. A pregame kickoff luncheon featuring comments from Miami President James C. Garland, athletic director Joel Maturi and Myers will be held at noon Saturday, Oct. 10, on the main floor in Millett Hall. Game ticket and pregame meal packages may be reserved for $22 each. Meal tickets only are $10. An alumni awards dinner to honor alumni who have distinguished themselves in service to the university and/or their respective professional fields will be held at 6:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 10. Tickets for the awards dinner are $25 per person. Call the alumni office at 529-5957 before Tuesday, Oct. 6, for reservations.
