Article by Craig Bennett (Center for American and World Cultures) about the Strength Through Cultural Diversity course he teaches at Miami says because he and colleagues struggle to find students who can give examples of instances in which they had been in the minority, they use an assignment called The Minority Experience. The assignment challenges students to participate in a cultural event in which they can experience minority status.
